Bennie was a high school teacher who taught over 31 years at R.A. Clemet in Cleveland, North Carolina and North Stanly High School in New London, North Carolina.  He was also an assistant principal and athletic coach. 

He was a very serious individual, a pioneer in the West Badin Community and  “A Friend of Youth;” wanting every child to put their best foot forward by being the best that he or she could be academically and socially. His Personal Motto: “Look Your Best and be Your Best Everyday”
